Kia ora and welcome back!!! If you're new to the blog welcome and cheers for stopping by!!!
This week I've compiled a bunch of YOUR most frequently asked questions and answered them for you. If I've missed any or you have any questions of your own feel free to leave a comment below and I'll get back to asap with an answer - enjoy.
Do you offer framing?
The simple answer is yes, however, I don't display the availability of framing on my website because I'm still deciding between 2 different framers I want to use going forward AND there's a real risk of smashed glass and damaged prints in transit. In saying that, if you really don't want to deal with getting your print framed send me an email before purchasing and I'll get it done. If you're undecided on who to do your framing check these guys out -https://www.framefox.co.nz/ or http://www.vanuffelen.co.nz/ or https://www.endemicworld.com/
Do you print your own prints?
I do not print my own prints - yet. There's two reasons for this and the first is large format printers are really, really expensive, and the second is that they're really, really big machines. Although I'd love to do my own printing, it's not an ideal time to even think about investing in one, and because of our unique living situation, we simply don't have room for one. That aside I get most of my work printed at https://www.freshdesign.co.nz/ in Palmerston North and have a really good relationship with the owner Richard who goes out of his way to get the prints just right!
Do you offer custom sizes?
I can offer custom sizes depending on which print you choose. There's a couple different reasons for this and the first is I use different cameras and some are less capable than others in terms of quality - and by quality I mean the final product, which is the print. I take a lot of pride in my work so if I'm not happy with the print then I won't send it out. The second is the fact that some images can be pushed larger (particularly the slower shutter images), but, I'd have to do some tests before committing to printing it for ya. If you want say a different ratio (say 1 x 1) then just email me and let me know what you're thinking.
Are your images on Instagram and Facebook available for purchase?
Yes. I try to post images daily to those channels and not everything ends up on my site so send me an email if you see an image that resonates and I'll get it sorted for you.
Where can I see Reuben James ArtWork?
At the moment you can see my work in a larger format at Van Uffelen in Palmerston North and Milky Whey Cafe in Foxton town. I also have some smaller framed prints at The Little White Rabbit at Foxton Beach. If you've been following me for a while then you'll know I have plans to open my own space where you can view my work at a larger scale, but, I'll keep ya posted on those movements.
Well that's it for this week - I'm writing this on good Friday while everyone is out enjoying the beautiful weather we're having in the Manawatū & Horowhenua so I wish everyone a safe and happy easter break!!!
In other news, I've been tripling down on my workload lately and have started creating daily 'calming' videos to get your mind right in the morning. I shoot them at sunrise and edit them before I go to bed to share first thing the next day so if you'd like to follow those you can either click here and subscribe to my youtube channel or follow me on Instagram and enjoy them that way.
