Kia ora and welcome back.
This weeks print of the week -’Whai’ - sits in the ‘Sky’ collection and was captured just metres from my home. A personal favourite (like many others) and my attempt as an ocean photographer to develop a collection that is uniquely my own. In such a saturated genre, it’s hard to come up with something new, but I feel like these shots (which I’ve been doing for nearly 4 years now) are something you don’t see every day. As soon as I started using the drone as another angle to capture waves (and at a time when my interest in slow shutter photography was peaking) I wanted to combine the two in order to capture something that I’d yet to see anyone else doing. Inspired by the slow shutter stuff I was capturing in the water, it was natural to want to do the same in the air and the more I experimented, the more I fell in love! I remember having an image in my mind that I wanted to create and although I captured that shot early on the series has evolved into a really abstract take on ocean photography where the images (from my point of view) evoke an other worldly quality.
Anyway, as with all the prints of the week, you don’t have to enter a code or anything (as I’ve done that for you), just choose your desired print (or framed print) and the discount will be applied automatically.
Thats it for this week - feel free to leave a comment below if you’d like to see any of my images feature on print of the week to get a better deal!
