Kia ora and welcome back!
I know it’s been an age since you were here last, but, let’s not dwell on my below average consistency and get straight into this weeks blog!
As you can see from the title, this weeks blog is a first look (for those who don’t follow me here OR here) at an evolving series I’ve been working on, and intend to work on for the next couple of years! See the images available now were all shot with my trusty Dji Phantom 4 drone, however, the ultimate goal is to re-capture these popular NZ beaches again - strapped in and hanging out of a helicopter. In saying that, I have to say it’s been a really good opportunity to scout the beaches with my drone because chartering choppers can be really expensive - knowing what parts of the beaches to bee-line too will hopefully keep that cost down once I get up.
Inspired by the first collection of images I shot in this style (Foxton Beach) my aim is to create an extensive collection of New Zealand’s most popular beaches in the hopes that when people see any of the images from the series they’ll instantly recognise it as a Reuben James. And thinking even further into the future, I’d love to create a book from the collection also.
With that said, I’ve shot 4 (5 including Foxton Beach) beaches so far and will build on that number with time - ENJOY!
Kaiteriteri Beach, Nelson
Mount Maunganui, Tauranga
Oriental Bay, Wellington
Cathedral Cove, Coromandel
And that’s it…For now!
To make up for my erratic blog posts I’ve decided to give away an A2 print (of the winners choosing) from the series. To enter, simply leave a comment below telling me which print from the collection you’d like (and your email so I can notify the winner) - EASY!
Good luck and mā te wā.
